Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the more common questions we recieve. Note many of these answers are already in the Rental Agreement and Apartment Rules

Paying Rent

Due Date: Rent is due on the first and is late after the 3rd. There are no exceptions.

Late Rent Penalties: The late fee is $6 per day, up to the maximum penalty stated in the Lease Agreement.

Responsibility for the Rent: All tenants are jointly responsible for the rent. This means if one or more roommates fail to pay, the entire rent is still due. This is stated in the Lease Agreement

Bounced Checks: If there are insufficient funds in your account to cover your rent check, you will be assessed a bounced check fee as stated in the Lease Agreement. Numerous bounced checks are grounds for termination of the lease

Tenant Disputes/Issues

Can we intervene? As a general rule we cannot intervene in situations involving irresponsible/immoral roommates. We will evict everyone on the lease if things get out of control.

What we can do: We are willing to facilitate changing roommates if that can be done peacefully.

Select your roommates carefully! We understand that compromises must be made in selecting a roommate(s). However it is well known that the best fix for roommate disputes/issues is choosing the right roommate(s) to begin with.
